Another long day… Discussion continued in both morning and afternoon plenary sessions about the sexuality memorials. It was sandwiched between a variety of other business items. Here’s a quick summary. The substituted memorial which is the original Goodsoil memorial to ask for changes in policies to allow gay and lesbian clergy in committed relationships to remain on the clergy roster was debated and failed in…
Churchwide – Friday A.M.
Discussion resumed late this morning on the sexuality memorial concerning rostering gay and lesbian people. The debate is whether is forward the memorial to the Sexuality Social Statement Task Force or deal with it at this assembly. Discussion is going well. The Bishop does a good job at moderating the discussion. There has been no heated or hateful discussion. It proceeds very smoothly. I think…
Churchwide – Thursday
The Memorials Committee brought the sexuality memorials to the floor for consideration Thursday afternoon. As you can imagine, there was a flurry of motions, amendments and discussions. I made it to the microphone…

She spoke about discrimination of females in Africa and the terrible crimes against humanity. At one point she spoke about the importance of fully including gays…
Churchwide – Tuesday Summary

They used setting 8 with contemporary and Hispanic hymns. It was very uplifting. Last night was very memorable. I went for Chicago pizza with Paul and Karen Jolly and Ruth Beeson, fallow Regional Coordinators. Afterwards, we attended the Goodsoil…
