A collection of my favorite photos from 2021 that tell the story of my year. No Europe for another year as the global pandemic limited my travels. My bicycle tours included the Ohio to Erie Trail and the Great Allegheny Passage. Many of these favorites are of our farm in rural Ohio Click on an image to read the story behind the photo.

The photographer's selfie
The snow was melting on the Heart of Ohio Trail on my walk with my Aussie Foster. I think the photo captured my day. -
Spectacular March Sunrise
Sunrises are often spectacular in my neck of the woods. This March morning the clouds and rays of the sun accented the Berger century barn. -
The clouds are the star of the morning
I am an early riser and often capture the sunrise to the east of my home. The unique clouds were shadowed by the rising sun. -
Mid-April snow
Snow in April is a rarety in Central Ohio. I love the contrast that the white snow makes with the red barn and black pavement. -
Laundry day
I was cycling through Wayne County's Amish country in early May. This Amish home had one of the longest clotheslines with garments of many colors. -
Akron Civic Theater
I love the murals that adorn the walls of the Akron Civic Theater in Downtown Akron. This one is particularly moving. -
Sunrise from my back yard
This May sunrise saw fog lifting from the pony pasture and the stream that passes through the pasture. -
The Berger boys
This photo captures the spirit of the family farm. My husband Brett is on the tractor with his father Bob walking alongside. Bob passed away a few months after this photo. -
Light and dark in the hay mow
I was working in the haymow (barn loft) and captured these unique colors accented by the sun. -
Raising the dust
The Medina County Fair draft horse and pony show was a dust bowl. The dust allowed me to capture the movement of the ponies. -
The Pinkerton High Bridge
My October Great Allegheny Passage (GAP) bike tour was on as colors were nearing their peak. The Pinkerton High Bridge was so inviting in the early morning framed by fall colors. -
Downhill run into Cumberland
I headed down Big Savage Mountain on the last day of my Great Allegheny Passage bike tour. The color was alive as I dropped in elevation and increased in speed to Cumberland. -
Autumn in Knox County
This late October sunrise highlights the shades of gold as the fall color reached its peak. -
Riviera Maya Palms
I am even an early riser on vacation. I caught his sunrise across the resort's pool with palm trees making the perfect backdrop.
