As is typical in Ohio, rain is in the forecast for this afternoon, and we are having some friends over for a BBQ.

Weight Watchers: Week 4

in Living healthy on July 2, 2007 January 2, 2015 Share Facebook Twitter Pinterest Google+ Email

I was worried about today’s weigh-in. Weight Watchers on a Monday is just cruel; no time to recover after a weekend of eating. After two picnics with all the trimmings, I thought I would suffer badly. I knew I had gained 2 pounds from my Thursday weigh-in at home. I was pleasantly surprised that I weighed in at 257.0 and still lost 1.2 pounds this…

Road Trip

in A happy life on July 1, 2007 January 2, 2015 Share Facebook Twitter Pinterest Google+ Email

Today we loaded up the dogs and our pal Phil for a road trip to Brett’s family for a picnic. The dogs did good for a 2 hour drive. It was Emily’s first road trip. They had a good time. As you can see, Emily got to stick her head out the window as we passed through Mt. Vernon. They were spoiled rotten. Abby knows…

Nice Weekend

in A happy life on June 30, 2007 January 2, 2015 Share Facebook Twitter Pinterest Google+ Email

What perfect weather today! We did a little shopping. Found outb that Circuit City had converted the closed Chapel Hill store into an outlet. We got some great deals there. This afternoon we went to our friend Becky’s surprise 60th birthday party. Her children and family did a good job in surprising her. Tomorrow we are off to Brett’s family picnic. This is going to…

No High School Reunion

in A happy life on June 28, 2007 January 2, 2015 Share Facebook Twitter Pinterest Google+ Email

Today I returned my 35th high school reunion response. It was a “No thanks”. As a typical gay person growing up in a small rural town in the 60s – 70s, high school was not exactly the most pleasant experience of my life. I had a small circle of friends and did very well academically. That is generality case of most GLBT people I know;…

Weight Watchers: Week 3

in Living healthy on June 25, 2007 January 2, 2015 Share Facebook Twitter Pinterest Google+ Email

Today was my 3rd weigh-in at Weight Watchers at Work. It was a tough weekend. We had gone to Amish Country and I knew I went overboard yesterday too. I lost 1 pound and weighed in at 258.2 pounds. At least I went in the right direction. So, I am down 10 pounds in two weeks. That’s not too bad. This week I am sticking…

Hello Emily!

in A happy life on June 19, 2007 January 2, 2015 Share Facebook Twitter Pinterest Google+ Email

Never, never look at a puppy for sale. Our friend Debbie forwarded an email from a co-worker with a friend who had to sell her 1 year old dachshund. I could not resist her. After some thought, we decided to take her. I picked her up tonight. She is so sweet and such a ball of energy. She is giving Bosley a lot of exercise….

Meet Tom

Tom Bilcze I am a retired IT data nerd living the good life in rural central Ohio with my husband and three dogs. I am a liberal living blue in a red world. I am a creative soul who loves to volunteer and be socially connected. I often find myself exploring the outdoors on a bike or hiking. I struggle to balance my rigid analytical nature with the freedom of retirement. more
