Last night Brett and I had a dinner party with our friends to celebrate my birthday. We had won the dinner in the Akron Pride Center annual dinner silent auction. Our friend Tim donated his time and talent to prepare the dinner. The auction item was to prepare and deliver the dinner for 8 to the winner’s home. Since he was our friend, he and…
Happy Mothers Day Mom
It’s Mother’s Day, and Brett and I had lunch at my mom’s with my brother. My mother has suffered from Alzheimer’s for many years now. Her health is beginning to deteriorate too. She doesn’t know or acknowledge us and is almost always tired and sleepy. It is painful to see a person who lived a full life be so incapacitated. The pic above was a…

They frequently point to surveys that show a decline in church attendance and membership over the past 20 years. I think this is a case of justifying a position by…
The real McCain
3 months almost down and entering the next phase
I figured that it was time for an update on my lap band surgery timeline. I am on my lat week of the physician supervised diet and exercise program. It’s hard to believe that three months have gone by. I think the program emphasises that I need the surgery to lose my weight. I had all good intentions to drop the weight but today I…
