Our Italian Feast

Last night Brett and I had a dinner party with our friends to celebrate my birthday. We had won the dinner in the Akron Pride Center annual dinner silent auction. Our friend Tim donated his time and talent to prepare the dinner. The auction item was to prepare and deliver the dinner for 8 to the winner’s home. Since he was our friend, he and Will served and joined us for dinner.

It was an unbelievable 8 course Italian feast. Tim was schooled in Italy and learned to cook while he was there. He learned well. The dishes were extraordinary. It was definitely the best meal I have ever had in my life. Everyone seemed to have a good time.

This capped of my birthday celebration. On my birthday Brett had an unbelievable meal waiting for me when I got home from work. He made fillet Mignon with wine sauce, twice baked potatoes, green beans and a salad. The potatoes were super tasty and the fillet sauce was a winner. Thank you, honey!

As you might suspect, these meals did not fit into my 1,000 calorie diet. The next few days will also be hard since we are grazing on leftovers. And… I forgot to mention an Italian cream cake from Ninni’s Bakery!
