I spent a wonderful week cycling and touring New England. It was a fun filled week in Connecticut, Rhode Island and Massachusetts. I love the eclectic Provincetown and life on the Cape. This summer we visited beautiful Newport, Rhode Island. I loved cycling Block Island to the North Lighthouse. What a beautiful part of this country that I highly recommend everyone visit.
I love clam chowder. I must confess I tried the different regional varieties from the clear Rhode Island chowder to the thick creamy New England clam chowder. The taste test winner hands down was Salas at 343 Thames Street in Newport, Rhode Island. It was a creamy but not too thick and loaded with plenty of clams. It was seasoned perfectly. Salas operates a pricier Italian restaurant upstairs. We dined at the casual seafood clam shack style downstairs dining room. The other lunch dishes were perfect with reasonable prices.
I thought I would share my favorite photos that I took during the week. Enjoy!
