Today I am grateful for the memories my father, Jokie Bilcze,  shared in my youth of his time in the Army and WWII. He was extremely proud of his service which was evidenced by this photo. He had the emblem of the Sixth Armored Division painted on a stone on our fireplace. My siblings and I were young and often did not appreciate the stories. Years later, I treasure them and realize how important a lesson they were for us. Today is Veterans’ Day and a special day to remember my dad and all veterans who proudly and selfishly serve this country.
