Today was the annual Thrivent Members Appreciation Day at the Akron Zoo. It’s my final year as Events Director. This year’s event went very smoothly. We farmed out the meal to box lunches prepared by St. Mark’s Youth Group with Thrivent providing the meal supplies. It was nice not having to prepare and clean-up.

We didn’t spend much time at the zoo afterwards since it was in the 90s and our air conditioned home was calling. The Akron Zoo is so impressive anymore. They continue to open more exhibits and build nice buildings. The gardens alone are so nicely maintained. I recommend a visit if you haven’t been there in awhile. It will pleasantly surprise you.
