With today being Veteran’s‘ Day, I though of my father. He was a Sergeant in WWII and was very proud of his service to our country. The photo on the left shows my dad in front of our fireplace that he had his 6th Armored Division shield painted on the hearth. We also had an oddity behind our house, the emblem in granite as the cornerstone to the house.
My dad was a cook and a constant planner. He spearheaded the annual Army reunions, which were frequently held in Alliance. I see a lot of my father in me; his love for cooking, planning events and his artistic talent.
