Sunday in Vegas

Brett and I are in Vegas for the week. Yesterday we had a good time. We bought tickets for The Phantom at the ½ price ticket place and saw it last night. It was very well done. Like anything in Vegas, they made it over the top in terms of special effects and staging. We recommend it even if you have seen the original. It’s shortened slightly and very entertaining. We capped the night off at one of our favorite restaurants out here, Café Grand Lux. It’s a restaurant run by the Cheesecake Factory folks. We both had fresh pasta dishes that were superior.

Today, we spent the day walking The Strip. It was pleasant, 75 and sunny. It was also relatively uncrowded for a weekend. Construction just never stops here. We’ve not been here for about three years. The changes are just phenomenal. More buildings, bigger and more luxurious. I wonder where it will stop.

We had dinner at the Caesar’s Forum Shops Cheesecake Factory. We always do it as our Sunday tradition. It’s a chance to walk the shops and see the Atlantis statue and fountain show. As corny as it is, it’s Vegas. On our way back to the hotel we got caught in a surprise shower that quickly ended.
