Today is Mother’s Day when we honor out mothers. My mom is a very traditional 1950’s stay-at-home mother. We always had a full dinner every night. She was an excellent cook. Her spaghetti and meatballs was a favorite of the neighborhood kids. We frequently had guests on Wednesday, spaghetti night. Alas, that is one recipe of my mothers that I do not have.

My mother suffers from Alzheimer’s but is relatively good health otherwise. I can’ recall exactly how long she has suffered from the disease,. I suspect it has been 6-7 years. She is pretty much unresponsive and non-participatory in discussion. Brett, my brother Joe and I will celebrate today with her at our house.
