rainy weekend salvaged

bPeninsulaNorth 003 The forecast for this weekend was rain, rain and more rain. Friday evening was actually sunny and clear. Brett and I cycled the Towpath Trail from Mustill Store to Blimp City Bikes on Merriman. Brett had some minor tune-ups done on his bike. After returning to Akron, we had a delicious Thai dinner at Cilantro in Downtown Akron. The curry rocks there!

bPeninsulaNorth 007 Saturday we were off to our annual visit to the Mt.. Hope Auction. They have their spring farm implement sale that literally has everything under the sun over 20 acres and in many barns and buildings. We picked-up some miscellaneous stuff in auction barn. The real deals were 5 trees and 6 French lilac bushes. Landscaping sells for rock-bottom prices at this sale. We load and left in the rain which continued through the night.

bPeninsulaNorth 063 Sunday morning we awoke to an overcast sky sputtering rain. Our Spin-Offs ride was on for the day. We headed north to Peninsula where we were greeted with sunny skies for the ride north along the Towpath Trail to Alexander’s Mill where we had to turn around due to construction. Returning to Peninsula, we headed over to century Cycles and the Winking L:izzard. Leaving the Lizard we were greeted again with rain that is set to be around for a few days. Well, it’s spring in Ohio. Rain is welcomed as things green up for the season.

bPeninsulaNorth 026 The Spin Offs, our weight loss support cycling club, is really shaping up nicely. We have met many nice folks and formed new friendships. Bike rides are so much more enjoyable with a group of friends. Join us some night or weekend for a ride. Visit our web site and join the club. We offer a variety of rides around the Akron-Canton area and Ohio.
