Buffalo Blue Cheese Hummus

Last night was the annual holiday meeting and party at my local bariatric support group. I made this hummus with the flavors of the famous Buffalo chicken wings. It came out terrific. It had just the right amount of heat to it and was a big hit. I served it with baked pita chips.

  • 1 – 15 oz can chick peas  (garbanzo beans)
  • 1 clove of garlic
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 1/4 cup buffalo wing sauce
  • 1/4 cup tahini (sesame seed paste)
  • 1/4 cup fat free blue cheese crumbles

Combine all ingredients except the blue cheese crumbles in a food processor until smooth and creamy. Add the blue cheese crumbles and pulse a few times. Serve immediately or store in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to a week.
