Quiet anniversary evening

We had the perfect anniversary dinner last night at Martin’s. The restaurant used to be across the street from Big Ruby’s. They moved it to Duval Street. Their new location is very modern and open. We ate outside in their palm garden lit by tiki torches. It was beautiful.

We started dinner with their martini menu. I had the key lime pie martini. It was yummy. Vodka, vanilla liqueur, key lime juice, and the glass edge dipped in graham cracker crumbs. Brett had a traditional lemon drop martini.

For the salad/appetizer course, Brett had broiled divers scallops topped with bacon and Gouda cheese. I had marinated artichokes and tomatoes on baby greens with a balsamic vinaigrette.

For the main course, I had the roast lamb oso busco with a burgundy sauce, rosemary potatoes and red cabbage. Martin’s is German establishment, and Brett had been hungry for German food. He had the Wiener schnitzel, spaetzel and red cabbage.

We left so full. We walked Duval Street a little. The temp varies so little in the Keys. It was still in the mid 70s. We returned to the room for a quiet evening.. I know Key West on Saturday night and we’re in the room watching Law and Order. Oh well, I guess that is what 18 years does to you. LOL
