Yesterday our area was hit with a March blizzard. I was in Columbus at a business meeting. Offices were closed early, and we started home early in the afternoon. The roads were very snowy and icy. The 2 hour drive home turned into 4 hours. It was so nice when my coworkers and I left in the morning. You never know about travel in March…
a month closer
Today I moved as little more closer to my lap band surgery. I had my second office visit with my doctor as required as part of my 12 week physician supervised diet and exercise program. It went very well. My doctor is very supportive of the surgery for me. He has high hopes that many of my co-morbidities will disappear or greatly lesson. If you…
ice storm
Icy rain fell through the night and it never warmed above freezing today. The trees look like they have been coated in crystal. It’s a frosty scene from our back deck. When will spring arrive! At least we turn our clocks forward this weekend and will have more light when we get off of work.

another week closer to surgery
On Monday, I checked off a couple more tests on my lap band surgery journey. I had an upper GI x-ray that was not too bad. It wasn’t much of a hassle other than drinking a couple of cups of a thick chalky barium liquid that was less than tasty while rotating your body in a variety of horizontal and vertical positions. The test is…
A Faithful Gay Clergy
Saturday morning our synod GLBT task force presented a ½ day study day on gay clergy in the ELCA. It turned our very well. Our guest speaker was a Pastor from New Jersey who is celebrating his and his partner’s 25th anniversary. He also has held a variety of positions within his synod. He did an amazing presentation on his life and ministry. He has…
An Alimony Free 40th
On Saturday night Brett and I joined our friends Will and Tim and 10 of their other friends to celebrate Will’s 40th birthday and last alimony payment. We startled the evening with drinks and dinner at the Brasa Grill in Cleveland’s Warehouse Distrcit. It is a Brazillkian stakhouse. If you have never been to one, it’s quite an experience. An endless parade of rotisseried meats…
