It was week two at Weight Watchers, the first real week where you have to show results or be embarrassed. I lost 9 pounds and weighed in at 259.2 pounds. I was so excited. I chose their Core Plan and tried to stay on it he best I could all week. We ate out at Max and Erma’s Saturday, but I got their low-cal salad…
Bath Day
It was bath day. It’s easiest to give Bos a bath outside. We have a plastic kiddie pool… no kidding! I drag it out on a warm morning, fill it with water and let it warm up. In the hot afternoon I can sit in it and give him a bath. It’s not a pretty picture. Here they are after the bath. We’ll see how…
It’s been a rollercoaster weekend!
Brett and I attended the NE Ohio ELCA Synod Assembly at the Knight Center in Akron all day Friday and this morning. I staffed the Lutherans Concerned display in the exhibit area. It went very well. Brett volunteered with registration. On the other hand, I was working with the Synod GLBT Task Force and 3 area churches on getting a resolution passed to memorialize the…
Weight Watchers: Week 1
This Monday I started Weight Watchers. I am starting with their newest plan, the Core Plan. It allows you to eat healthy, natural foods at any quantity to fulfill your hunger. You then have a supply of extra points to use during the week for prepared foods and special occasions. It pretty much aligns with the foods Brett and I are eating today. I weighed…
Counting Sheep… Hopefully!
I am off to have sleep study in 30 minutes. It’s been 3 or 4 years since my last one. I’ve been feeling sleepy in the afternoon and know it’s probably something with my sleep apnea or CPAP not being calibrated right. So, my doctor sent me back to have another study. The last time I had this I was wide awake most of the…
Perennial Summer
Here are some pics of my planters. This year I decide to use perennials. I saw these at the Chicago Flower Show in March. I bought a few for our front porch at Lowes. I put together the ones on our deck. The herb pot I threw together has just been going wild with all this rain.
Summer of Reality in the Kitchen
The summer TV series have arrived. I am excited with the return of the chef/cooking reality shows. Last night I caught the first episode of The Next Food Network Star. It was pretty enjoyable. It copied the wedding reception challenge from last season’s Top Chef show. It looks to be worth watching. Tonight I caught Hell’s Kitchen. Chef Ramsay is so entertaining. One of the…
Remembering my dad on Memorial Day
This Memorial Day I remember my Dad, Jokie. He was a WWII veteran and was quite proud of his service to the USA. As a matter of fact, the emblem for the Army’s 6th Armored Division was painted on stone on the top of our fireplace. You can see it in the photo to the left with my father. My dad organized many army reunions…
