Perfect Summer Day

Saturday was a perfect summer Saturday. After a week of humid days and thunderstorms, a sunny day was welcome. I had volunteered to organize a mystery trip at church for this weekend. 12 people showed up and we traveled to Lehman’s in Kidron, Troyer’s Bakery in Apple Creek and The Barn in Smithville. Everyone had a great time. The storm damage was much more severe in Wayne County. We saw many fallen trees and Simply Smucker’s was closed because it had no power. It was one of our stops.

We left Smithville for Columbus. Our pal Keith from our cruise was in town working the weekend. He wanted to meet us for dinner. We met at Easton where he was staying and ate at Brio, a great Italian restaurant. Easton was having an art show. We all know Easton is a gay man’s Mecca. I bought a bright set of bowls at Crate and Barrel and two frosted glass patio lanterns at Smith and Hawkins. Both were a buy at 50% off.

Lehman’s is a cool place. It’s been a few years since I’ve been there. It might be time for a road trip….
