My Heart Report Card

Today is the first anniversasry of my triple bypass open heart surgery. Looking back, I have come a long way over the past year. Although time passed slowly through the winter during my recovery and cardiac rehab classes, the rest of the year flew by with our Hawaiian cruise and a wonderful summer. I appreciate things so much more today.

One of the things I was determined to do was change my life and live a healthier life. I’ve done real well on certain things and not as well on other things. I guess the easiest way to explain it is with a report cared. Here it is.

[2005] {Today}
Heart Friendly Diet = [F] {B}
Regular Aerobic Exercise = [F] {D}
Lower Stress Level = [C] {B}
Taking Time for Myself = [D] {C}
Prevention of Future Attack = [F] {B}
Overall Health Grade = [F] {C+}

Asd you can see, I improved from a failing grade to at least a C+. It’s not good enough. I need to work on this harder.

In the coming week I plan on exploring the above items as part of my recovery. Since friends read this blog, I hope it serves as education for them in preventing a heart attack in the future.
