prevention of future heart attack – B+

Can you prevent a heart attack? That’s a complex question. Heredity and genetics have a lot to do with it. Diet, exercise and stress are prime areas in which you can help reduce the risk of having a coronary incident. My past 3 report card posts addressed each of these factors that are under my control. I scored myself a “B+” since I am actively working on them and made noticeable improvement this year.

My 2009 goal is to improve all three of the contributing factors: diet, exercise and stress. Exercise-wise, I want to diversify and add intensify to my workout routine. Diet-wise, I plan on following my lapband diet to reduce calorie intake and eat healthier. Stress-wise, I plan on enjoying my free time more and volunteering in ways that are enjoyable to me.
