This morning the debarkation went very smoothly. We were on our way to the Bacardi Distillery by 8:30 a.m. for a final excursion. We did not tour the actual distillery. There was a lot of history of Bacardi and explanation on how rum was made. We did get two free Bacardi mixed drinks with our choice of rum, juices and mixers at the end of the tour.
We enjoy making new friends on our cruises. If you have never been on a cruise, you form friendships with fellow cruisers during the week. We were traveling with our friends Al and Keith from Chicago (bottom photo on left). We spent a lot of our time with Louis and Mike from NYC (top photo on left). We have been chatting with them on-line for the past few months. They made our week so enjoyable. We hope to travel with them again. Another couple we met was George and Fidel from central New Jersey (middle photo on right). They were also nice guys to travel with. All of these guys are in long term gay relationships.
We enjoyed our week so well that we booked the 2009 Pied Piper post Thanksgiving cruise to the Western Caribbean. George and Fidel have also signed up. We are hoping to convince some friends to join us.
It’s hard to believe that in less than 10 hours we will be back to cold Ohio from the tropics. I am really ready to come home. We have been away so much during the last 3 weeks. Just like Dorothy, I am clicking my heels and saying, “There’s no place like home.”
