ok, i am ready for spring

As promised a winter storm rolled in over night. We went to bed with a few flurries and about 1″ of snow on the deck. I woke at 5:00 a.m. and let the dogs out to about 5″ of snow and sleet. After my treadmill run and breakfast, the sleet was still accumulating. I called Kerry, my carpooler, and we decided to work from home today. It was a good call. The weather turned back to snow and about another 5″” fell during the day. Most schools and workplaces closed early. My office closed at 11:30 a.m. I was warm and cozy at home and worked my normal work day since I had several things due this week.

In the late afternoon, I snow blowed the driveway. I made two passes to get it real clear. The snow was very heavy and the ice layer made it more difficult to blow. Add to that, it was as high as the snow blower intake. I am sure Lowe’s had a steady business of snow blower sales today.

I am ready for a winter get-away. I guess I am settling for a day trip to the Grove City Outlets on Saturday. We are going with friends. It will be a fun day. Right now the forecast is for clear skies and high 20s-low 30s. I wonder what the weather is on Orient Beach on St. Maarten today? I am sure no chance of snow!

I hear you – so ready for Spring myself. With all this weight loss, I am constantly cold! And we had snow this winter, too – it rarely does that in the Seattle area. Love your picture – it is pretty, but prettier when you can stay home, all warm and cozy!

mmmm, St Maarten – sounds delicious. Maybe one of these years.

But shopping’s a good alternative -have fun Saturday!
