Perfect Early Autumn Day

Today was a perfect day. The weather was superb. Autumn is rapidly approaching. Our buckeye tree is dropping buckeyes. The field next door is losing its green. The goldenrod are really in full bloom. All the summer flowers are enjoying a rebirth with the cooler weather and rain last week. My potted herbs are looking especially well.

I planted 100 red emperor tulips in the front flower beds this afternoon. I really enjoy to see the colors in spring after a cold winter. In a few weeks I’ll be heading to Dussel’s Farm to pickup pumpkins, gourds, corn stalks and mums to decorate the front porch.
